About the tournament

Another year has passed and it is here again in its full splendour – the All Stars Cup 2014, or the 6th Annual International Youth Tournament, which has a colourful history, the shine of the present and considerable ambitions for the future. The tournament is based on a fixed vision, which is to offer top international matches for domestic clubs. Yet the project has also been developing year by year, and it is being shaped and changing in its own way; this reflects the spirit of our times, and we believe that this is the right path.

More than ever, our key partner is the City District of Prague 10. In its current mayor, Mgr. Bohumil Zoufalík we have found a rare man who truly cares about football – he is interested in it and is ready help with it. This also includes the fact that in addition to SK Slavia Praha, Bohemians Praha 1905, another traditional club based in Prague 10 has become one of co-organizers of the tournament. In practice, this means that the All Stars Cup now has available the legendary Ďolíček stadium and youth sports facility at Loko Vršovice.

During this year's All Stars Cup, players born in 1998 will again be competing, which in the 2013/14 season means the U16 category - the tournament has now moved from the pupil to the junior level. This undoubtedly means that the event will attract more attention than before. At the age of sixteen players sign their first professional contracts with their clubs and thus become goods on the football market and are under more careful supervision from clubs, scouts and players' agents.

We are pleased that the tournament now includes international teams in addition to European teams. Like last year in Prague, we will see Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara, and, with it, the first representative of the Asian continent - Yokohama Marinos from Japan. In addition, we will see the premieres of other famous clubs - Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Hamburger SV and Dinamo Zagreb, which won the Premier Cup last year - the unofficial world championship of clubs in the given age category. Compared to last year, this year’s All Stars Cup will introduce six new participants from abroad and one old-new team from the Czech Republic - FC Hradec Králové. After five years away the team will be building on its participation in the first year.

We can again look forward to new clubs, various football schools and attractive matches of competitors who don’t get to play each other very often. Some people may find the playing time of the matches (2 x 15 minutes) too short for sixteen-year-old players, but we have intentionally kept it the same in order to preserve the unique playing system and the tournament atmosphere that goes along with it.

Come see for yourself at All Stars Cup 2014. Matches will be played at the SK Slavia Praha sports area on the third long-weekend in June, i.e. from 13-15 June.
