About the tournament

The year 2016 is a breakthrough year for the All Stars Cup - a new era in the history of the tournament is beginning. In previous years, young footballers born in 1998 always played in the tournament, and this year the tournament is moving to the U16 category, meaning that players born in 2000 will be playing in it. The tournament will likely also be organized for the sixteen-year-old category in the years to come.

Yet the basic idea on which the All Stars Cup is based will not be changing. We are offering quality international matches for Czech or Slovak teams that are interested in them, i.e. matches that these teams normally do not have the opportunity to play against advanced foreign teams with various football schools and approaches.

This year, it may at first seem that the tournament will be lacking big names. But as we know, football is about more than just names, and this time we are giving opportunities to other clubs – teams that have not yet played in the tournament despite seeking to do so in the past. Their work with youths is also inspiring. Danish Midtjylland built its academy based on the French model. Polish Zaglebie Lubin raises its talents in cooperation with Dutch experts, and now fourteen of its young players play on the adult A team! Dinamo Minsk is the pride of Belarus, and most of Belarus’s current national representatives passed through its youth base. And we could go on.

During the seven previous years, 49 clubs from 24 countries and four continents have taken part in the tournament. These numbers are now once again going to increase, and this shows the prestige of the All Stars Cup. This is mainly due to its overall concept, atmosphere and set priorities. First and foremost, it is always about football and the boys who play it. All the decisions that are made are guided by the effort to benefit football and make the tournament as attractive as possible in all respects.

Come and be convinced with your own eyes. The U16 All Stars Cup 2016 international junior tournament will be played during the long weekend from 17 June to 19 June every day from 9:00 am at the training grounds of Slavia Prague on Vladivostocká Street. This can be a nice variegation of a rich football menu during the EURO 2016 European Championship in France.
